About Tunde
Tunde Adeyemi is the fact-checker at Bets.ng. Every numeric claim on the site — bonus terms, licence numbers, withdrawal times, rollover multipliers, odds lines — goes through his verification before it ships. He maintains a running corrections register that now has more than 800 entries across 24 months, and he runs the quarterly audit that re-checks every operator page for drift.
Before joining Bets.ng, Tunde spent six years as a research analyst at a Lagos-based financial publisher, where he owned source verification for daily market commentary. He holds a BSc in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and is an accredited member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists. He is salaried, has no operator commissions, and has never held a betting account under his own name for personal play.
“I don't believe a claim until I've tried to break it. Every number on Bets.ng has my signature on it, which means I've tested or disproven every one.”
— Tunde Adeyemi
Career
Tunde Adeyemi is the fact-checker on every Bets.ng page. Before joining us in 2023 he spent more than a decade covering Nigerian sports betting as a staff reporter at two of the largest Nigerian sports dailies (where he covered three AFCON campaigns, the 2022 World Cup and two NPFL title races) and as the editorial lead at three African betting guides, all of which are now dormant — a detail he likes to mention when colleagues forget why verification matters.
He holds a BA in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos (2012) and a postgraduate diploma in Media Law from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (2016). He is the only member of the Bets.ng team with a library card for the Lagos State Gaming Authority.
At Bets.ng, Tunde audits every published claim. License numbers, bonus terms, rollover multipliers, withdrawal timings, payment-rail fees — if a page on Bets.ng contains a number, Tunde has checked it against the operator's source material or against one of our test logs. We have a running list of every number he's rejected. It is longer than we're comfortable admitting.
A typical week
- Monday: reads the weekend's newly published pages, flags every factual claim for a second check
- Tuesday: operator-side verification — pulls licence numbers from the Curaçao and LSGA registries, compares
- Wednesday: compliance audit — reads our own responsible gambling copy and tests links
- Thursday: bonus T&C audit — one brand per week, reads the full terms, compares to our summary
- Friday: corrections clearing — every user-reported error from the week gets a yes/no within 48 hours
- Ad-hoc: whenever Emeka publishes a tip with a stated price, Tunde verifies the price was available at publish time

Tunde is Lagos-born, keeps a paper diary, does not drink, and has never placed a bet on a match he has previously fact-checked (a rule we did not ask him to keep but appreciate). He supports Sunshine Stars out of loyalty to his grandfather.
