Aviator RTP and house edge

Spribe Aviator runs at 97% RTP. That is the second-highest RTP in any casino product available in Nigeria. Here is what that means for your money.

What 97% RTP actually means

RTP stands for Return to Player. It is the long-run percentage of money wagered that the game returns to players collectively. 97% RTP means that for every NGN 100,000,000 wagered on Aviator across all players, NGN 97,000,000 is returned as winnings and NGN 3,000,000 is kept by the operator as gross gaming revenue.

Critically, 97% RTP does not mean every player gets back 97% of their money. Some players win, most players lose. The 97% is a population average over millions of rounds. Your individual session might return 0% (you lost everything) or 300% (you got lucky and tripled up). Over enough rounds, your session average converges to 97%.

This is why session variance matters more than expected value for casual players. A casual player who plays 50 rounds in a session has wide variance: their actual return could be 30% or 250%. A heavy player who plays 5,000 rounds across the year sees their return tighten to within a few percentage points of 97%. The longer you play, the closer to 97% you get.

How Aviator compares to other casino products

Aviator's 97% RTP puts it in the top tier of casino products. Here is the comparison across products available in Nigeria:

Sports betting: 92 to 95% RTP depending on operator and market. Singles run higher than accas. Live betting runs lower.Aviator (Spribe): 97% RTP. Among the highest RTP products available.Slots: 92 to 96% on most slots. Some go as low as 88%. The displayed RTP is in the slot info screen.Roulette (European): 97.3% RTP (1/37 house edge).Blackjack (basic strategy): 99.5%+ RTP if you play optimal strategy. Probably the lowest house edge in any casino product.Virtual football: 90 to 92% RTP on most products. Bet9ja's Zoom Soccer runs at approximately 92%.

Aviator's 97% is genuinely good by casino standards. The reason it can sustain a 3% house edge while feeling exciting is the high frequency: you can play 100+ rounds per hour. That high volume means even a low edge produces meaningful revenue for the operator.

Why some operators have lower Aviator RTP

Spribe (the developer) ships Aviator at 97% RTP by default. Some operators license a modified build with lower RTP. We have seen 95%, 94% and as low as 92% Aviator versions on smaller offshore casinos.

Stake, 1xBet, 1Win, Betano and Bet9ja all run the standard 97% Spribe build as of April 2026. We verified this in the in-game info panels. If you see Aviator at any other operator and the info panel does not say 97%, assume it is a modified low-RTP build and play elsewhere.

Hourly cost calculation

If you want to know how much Aviator will cost you in expected value over a session, the maths is straightforward. Take your average stake, multiply by rounds per hour, multiply by the 3% house edge.

Casual session: NGN 200 stake, 60 rounds per hour = NGN 12,000 wagered per hour. Expected loss: NGN 360 per hour.Active session: NGN 500 stake, 90 rounds per hour = NGN 45,000 wagered per hour. Expected loss: NGN 1,350 per hour.Heavy session: NGN 1,000 stake, 120 rounds per hour = NGN 120,000 wagered per hour. Expected loss: NGN 3,600 per hour.

These are expected averages over many sessions. Any individual session has high variance around these numbers. But the long-run cost of Aviator at any stake level is calculable, and that calculability is part of why Aviator is a more honest product than most casino games. You know what you are paying for the entertainment.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. It is in the top quartile of casino products. Only blackjack with optimal strategy and European roulette have higher RTPs commonly available.

On average across all rounds and all players, yes. On individual rounds the operator wins or loses based on player cash-out timing, but over volume the 3% margin stabilises.

Spribe Aviator's RTP is fixed at 97% for the certified build. Some operators run modified builds with different RTP values, but the standard build is constant. Check the in-game info screen to verify.

No. High RTP means the long-run return is high, not that individual sessions are profitable. Variance is independent of RTP. A 97% RTP product can still produce a 50-round losing streak.
