What OPay is, and how it fits Nigerian betting

Step-by-step: depositing with OPay
- Choose OPay in the cashier. Every naira-accepting operator on our list has OPay as a deposit option. It's usually the first button.
- Enter your OPay phone number. This is the Nigerian number registered to your OPay wallet, not your SIM. If they're the same, even better.
- Enter the amount. Minimum ₦200 at most operators. Maximum per day is ₦500,000 for unverified accounts and ₦1m+ for BVN-verified accounts.
- Switch to the OPay app when prompted. A push notification lands. Tap it. The transaction screen shows who you're paying (the operator), how much, and a reference.
- Confirm with your 4-digit OPay PIN. Never share this PIN. Balance lands at the operator in 2–6 seconds after you hit confirm.

Troubleshooting: the six things that usually go wrong
OPay push notification doesn't arrive
Open the OPay app manually and check your pending transactions tab. The authorisation request sits there even if the push fails. This is usually an Android battery-saver setting killing OPay in the background — whitelist OPay under battery exclusions.
Deposit stuck 'pending' after PIN entry
Screenshot the OPay transaction reference. 90% of the time the deposit is in — the operator just hasn't polled OPay's callback yet. Refresh the cashier. If it's not there in 3 minutes, open a support ticket with the reference.
Withdrawal slower than usual
Sunday nights and Eid / Christmas weeks see OPay maintenance windows. Check the OPay Twitter (@OPay_NG) for incident reports. Everything else — shoot an SMS to the operator, quoting the reference.
Wrong OPay number used at deposit
If the operator's cashier mis-typed your OPay number, the funds don't land. Refund takes 48 business hours. Always copy-paste your OPay number rather than typing it.
Daily deposit cap hit
₦500k/day for unverified accounts. Verify BVN in the OPay app under Account → Upgrade. Raises the cap to ₦5m/day. Takes 10 minutes.
OPay app requires update mid-transaction
Finish the update, then restart the deposit from the operator side. The previous request will time out, nothing lost.
