Meet the Bets.ng team

Four Nigerian editors. One Broad Street office in Lagos. Every review, every tip, every correction on this site carries one of their bylines. Here is who they are, what they do, and how to reach them.

Tolu Shotade

Tolu Shotade

Editor in Chief · Lagos, Nigeria

“I've been on Nigerian football TV for nine years. I got tired of reading betting reviews written by people who had never deposited on OPay at midnight.”

Chinwe Okafor

Chinwe Okafor

Senior Reviewer · Payments & UX · Abuja, Nigeria

“Fintechs ship glossy apps. Operators ship whatever works on the day. My job is to find the difference and write it down.”

Reach out: [email protected]
Emeka Nwosu

Emeka Nwosu

Tips & Analytics · Port Harcourt, Nigeria

“I'd rather show you a losing month than hide one. Losing tipsters who pretend to win forever are the reason Nigerian bettors stay broke.”

Reach out: [email protected]
Tunde Adeyemi

Tunde Adeyemi

Fact-Checker · Lagos, Nigeria

“I don't believe a claim until I've tried to break it. Every number on Bets.ng has my signature on it, which means I've tested or disproven every one.”

How the team works

Tolu owns editorial standards and sign-off. Chinwe owns brand reviews and payments. Emeka owns tips and analytics. Tunde owns fact-checking and the corrections register. Every review page on the site names a writer and a fact-checker. Every numeric claim has a source.

We are based at Afriland Towers, 97 Broad Street, Lagos Island. The office is open by appointment — email [email protected] 48 hours ahead and he will walk you through what we do.

Editorial chain of command

  1. Writer drafts the page, pulls sources into a shared sheet.
  2. Fact-checker (Tunde) pulls every numeric claim into a verification sheet with a source column. The page does not ship until every cell has a primary source or a Bets.ng test log.
  3. Second editor (rotating) reads for Nigerian voice, clarity and adherence to the style guide.
  4. Tolu signs off. He also personally agrees every operator affiliate relationship on the site.

How we hire

We hire slowly. Every Bets.ng editor has at least five years of Nigerian media, fintech or operator experience. We do not hire junior writers. We do not use freelancers for brand reviews. If you are a seasoned Nigerian sports journalist, fintech PM or former operator insider, drop us a line at [email protected] with a writing sample and your track record. We will reply.
