Live complaints scorecard: which Nigerian bookmakers are paying out this week

A weekly count of withdrawal denials, KYC lockouts, and reader complaints across the major Nigerian bookmakers. Updated every Monday.

Every Monday morning we count the complaints. Withdrawal denials, KYC lockouts, bonus disputes, customer service silence. We pull from Nairaland, Reddit, and direct reader reports, and we publish the scoreboard whether the operators like it or not.

This is a living scorecard. Last update: 5 May 2026. The weekly trend column shows how the operator performed against the previous week. A trend rising on a complaint count is a bad sign, not a good one.

How we count. Complaint count is the number of unique negative threads on Nairaland Sports Betting and Gambling sections, plus Reddit r/Nigeria and r/sportsbetting, plus direct emails to [email protected], in the last seven days. Withdrawal denied means a thread mentions a specific blocked withdrawal. KYC locked means an account is restricted pending document review. We do not count duplicate posts by the same user.

This week's headline

1xBet complaints climbed for the third week running. The dominant pattern is the same one we flagged in early April: deposit accepted, KYC verification triggered after the first withdrawal request, then radio silence for ten days or longer. Of 22 withdrawal denial complaints, 14 cited unanswered escalation tickets. Punters with active 1xBet balances should consider our escalation playbook before adding more deposits.

Bet9ja, in contrast, is having its best month of the year. Withdrawal denial complaints fell 12% week on week and three of the five complaints we logged were resolved with a refund inside four working days. The Lagos walk-in office on Adeola Odeku Street appears to be doing the heavy lifting.

Reader reports

Send your case to [email protected]. Include screenshots, ticket numbers, and dates. We do not publish names. We do publish patterns, and a single tagged thread on Nairaland is often the difference between a stuck withdrawal and a paid one.
